Halloween Marie

Marie is sporting a witch’s hat decorated with images of vintage jewelry to which I’ve added faux pearls and Stickles for sparkle.  Her bat mask is accented with glitter.  She is all ready for the ball!

Nevermore – Poe Inspired Art

I’m hosting a tombstone swap in the VintagePhotoImageATC group on Yahoo.  The requirements are that the participants use one or more of the tombstone templates I supplied and that the card have a vintage feel.  Here is my card for the swap.

Murder Mystery ATCs

I participated in a swap where you had to create 6 characters and a profile for each that would fit into a murder mystery.  Here are my characters - all rotten to the core.

Desiree Flambeau

Desiree Flambeau a nightclub singer and dancer is the girlfriend of Benny “The Bookie” but is in love with Sam Snoop private eye.  If Benny finds out, Desiree knows that Benny will kill her and Sam.  Tonight is her last show at the El Morocco. After the show she intends to ask Sam to run away with her.  Unfortunately Desiree has a bad habit of choosing the wrong man.

Idelle Chattre

Idelle Chattre is a socialite, compulsive gambler, and in debt to Benny “The Bookie”.  Sam Snoop is blackmailing her over old embarrassing love letters she wrote to Damon Cheeter, but she doesn’t have the money to pay Sam.

Benny “The Bookie”

Benny is fresh out of jail on bail.  Benny’s bookmaking is just a cover for the mob.  Benny’s a much bigger fish as he's the “bag man” and main contact between the mob and dirty politician’s like Damon Cheeter.  Desiree is Benny’s main girl but he’s been known to spend time with Marguerite Ime Amistress.

Damon Cheeter

Damon’s a long-time politician and on the take, he accepts bribes from the mob for awarding them city contracts.  Handsome and rugged looking he’s quite the ladies’ man.  Damon doesn’t care who he steps on to get what he wants.

Marguerite Ime Amistress

Marguerite Ime Amistress boasts that she has only one vice, other women’s husbands.  Damon Cheeter, big city politician is one of her current conquests.  She recently came across some old love letters from Idelle Chatre to Damon and gave them to Sam Snoop.  Sam intends to use the love letters to blackmail Idelle, and promises to kick back 50% of the take to Marguerite.

Sam Snoop

Sam Snoop is a private detective and having an affair with Desiree Flambeau.  He’s looking for info on Benny “The Bookie”.  Sam’s a lone wolf; in his line of work, he can’t afford a serious relationship with a dame.  Private investigation just doesn’t pay much so Sam subsidizes his income with a little blackmail.  Marguerite gave him some racy love letters that he thinks Idelle Chatre will pay to keep private.  Damon Cheeter’s wife thinks her husband has a mistress so she hired Sam to find out.

Blue Marie

I created this card for a swap in the Marie Antoinette Mail Art group.  Her sleaves are jewelry drops accented with blue Swarovski crystals.  The base of her body is a dress form on top of an urn.  I used ribbon for her skirt.  Her headdress is faux pearls and a porcelain rose.

Annabel Lee - Poe Inspired Art

I thought I would start throwing in a little Halloween themed art as I have so much to share with you.

I made the pocket watch out of paper then hinged it with a dollhouse hinge.

Just a little something pretty!

The Gangster’s Moll

The idea for this card is that the gangster’s moll or girlfriend has betrayed the gangster and he has found out.  To create this card I started by stamping a collage of newspapers on white cardstock.  Next I applied 3 different rub-ons (the cityscape, the gangster silhouette, and the lounge sign) that I created using Grafix Rub-Onz Transfer film.  Click here to see the tutorial on making your own rub-ons.  By using a series of rub-ons you can see through the gangster to the cityscape and then through the cityscape to the newspapers.

Next, I added the car and the woman.  For the final touches I added her ring and earrings using Stickles and the swirl of smoke coming out of the gangster’s machine gun which is a commercially produced rub-on.

Geisha Inspired Domino Book

FRONT

I used metal leaves which are painted with alcohol ink, Lucite leaf vases and beads to decorate the front.  I purchased the Lucite leaves at Collage Stuff.  The color worked for what I was doing but it would be very easy to change their color by painting them with alcohol ink.  There is a hole at the end of the leaf.  The beads are strung on thread which I then pulled through the hole and secured with a small dab of Glossy Accents.

The sides of the domino are wrapped with ribbon.
