In this video tutorial I
demonstrate an easy way to create the texture you see on the cover of the books
above by using tissue paper and Mod Podge.
This technique works on any surface.
I’ve even used it on glass bottles!

Laura, I love the look you achieved with the tissue paper! It looks great.
Great tutorial! Thank you!!!!
Great tutorial, Laura!!! And a great look!!!! If you use the stain, do you seal it afterwards?? I'm wondering because if you don't wouldn't the stain react if you happened to get it wet?
Thanks for your tutorial Linda, I have done this technique before but have always used full sheets of tissue and it's harder to get the texture everywhere you want it. I love the way you have torn the tissue into small pieces, your texture is beautiful. Love the maroon book cover, it is so rich and beautiful.
Great tutorial Laura, loved the video and though I have known this technique for a long time, I loved some of the tips you provided, like sealing before using the Distress stains. The projects you created look stunning to and I love that Patina coloured gilding paste. (just ordered it from Alpha Stamps as I am visiting the States so won't have to pay a fortune in postage yay!
Dear Laura, what a wonderful lesson. You are such an inspiration! I've recently lost my husband and I am trying to get back to being creative. Your tutorials and beautiful artwork simply start my day full of imagination and creativity.. Thanks so much.
Thanks Laura for a great technique. I can't wait to give it a try,
