Mini Apothecary in an Altoids Tin Book

One of the projects I’ll be demonstrating during the Pretty Potions & Poisons Apothecary Event is this mini apothecary in an Altoids tin.  This is a great project if you only have time to do something small.
Just 5 more days to go before the event starts!!

Poe Themed Altered Altoids Tin

More eye candy for you Poe fans.  The middle of this piece an Altoids tin which makes a perfect niche for a frame.
The candle is made from a wooden skewer and the holder is a bead.  I’ve used a bead cap as an inkwell.  I used a drop and beads to create a chandelier.
Backside
I used Pitch Black Alcohol Ink to paint the edges of the white flowers and also paint some of the white flowers completely black.

Halloween Blog Events

I’m not the only one hosting a Halloween event.  I’ve run across two that I plan on participating in that might interest you.

The first is “Le Mysterieux Carnival”.  Now doesn’t that sound mysterious?  It’s being hosted by Frosted Petunias and Incipient WingsThe event is a mixture of carnivals and Halloween.  Sounds like a perfect mix to me and I have already started working on my pieces for the event.
Click here to check out the event details, see the blogs that are participating and mark it down in your calendar for October 6th.

The second event is “The Bewitching Home Blog Party” hosted by The Witch of Howling CreekThe date is October 13.  Participant’s posts will be domestically related in a Halloween Samantha Stevens sort of way; anything from food to decorating to entertaining.

Edgar Allen Poe Inspired ATC

September is finally here which means in 12 days the Pretty Potions & Poisons Apothecary Event starts.  Woo hoo!   I hope you are all getting in touch with your inner witch.  I hope you’ve been enjoying the teasers I’ve been posting daily in the left-hand column of the blog.
Until the event starts I’ll be posting art inspired by Edgar Allen Poe and a few other goodies.  The spider on this card is actually a bead so it can move up and down the clock pendulum.
